About this Event
Valdese Parks and Recreation and a host of local organizations in the adaptive outdoor recreation world combine to hold the 2025 Outdoor Adaptive Recreation Day at McGalliard Falls Park. It's a great opportunity to see a wide range of gear created to open various aspects of outdoor recreation to a wide range of the population. It's an especially great opportunity to have a hand-on experience with adaptive recreation equipment. Among the equipment that will be onhand:
- NC Wildlife Resource Commission: Trackchair (pictured above) and the Huntmaster portable/accessible deer blind
- PairNC: Adaptive kayaking gear
- Waypoint Adventures NC: Adaptive bikes
- Greensboro Parks and Rec: Adaptive mountain bikes
- NC Spinal Cord Injury Association: Joelette Hiking Chair
Outdoor Adaptive Recreation is a key component of Valdese's recreation program and a part of its Creating Outdoor Recreation Economies program recently completed through the NC Department of Commerce.
