About this Event

Philadelphia has a long and rich history of urban agriculture, gardening, and land stewardship. Today, we continue to steward land and form communities around these green spaces but often run into barriers that threaten their existence.

The Public Interest Law Center, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and Neighborhood Gardens Trust invite you to hear about the ways we can continue to preserve gardens, urban farms, and green spaces in Philadelphia.

We’ll be covering:

•         The landscape of gardens and urban farms in Philadelphia;

•         How to start a garden and resources for gardeners starting out;

•         The role of land trusts for the preservation of gardens and green spaces;

•         Legal strategies and advocacy for preserving land.

This event will take place in the Heim Center, Room 131/132 on the first floor of the library.
