What is Reiki?The International Center for Reiki Training states that Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person, including body, emotions, mind and spirit.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
During this workshop, you will be attuned to Reiki at the first level, which will enable you to channel healing energy for the purposes of increasing wellbeing for yourself, family members, friends, and even pets and plant life. You’ll learn and practice the first sacred Reiki symbol.
This attunement workshop is unique in that I also provide instruction on use of aromatherapy as an adjunct to Reiki healing, and teach you a simple technique for a supportive aromatic hand treatment that is wonderful either before or after a Reiki treatment session.
You will leave with a binder including your manual, an aromatic spray that can be used to cleanse your healing space, a custom sacred aromatic oil to be used for anointing and hand treatments, and a certificate documenting your completion of the Level I requirements.
Kat Wilcox is a Usui and Holy Fire Reiki Master with six years of professional Reiki attunement and practitioner experience, as well as over 20 years of experience as a healing arts practitioner.
Kat is also a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist, specializing in the subtle and spiritual use of sacred aromatics to help us align with our spiritual guides and higher selves.
It is recommended that individuals be attuned to and practice Reiki I skills for at least 1-2 months prior to continuing to Reiki II. A Reiki II class will be offered later in the Spring for those who are interested. 🙏
Light refreshments will be served during the workshop. Bottles water, tea, and coffee are also available at no charge. 💗
