About this Event

Overview

Non-technical skills (NTS) are social, cognitive and personal skills that can enhance the way you or your staff carry out technical skills, tasks and procedures. Integrating NTS can bring a range of benefits to organisations, including improvements in: safety outcomes, team functioning, adherence to procedures, safety attitudes, and safety culture.

In recent years, users of NTS have asked RSSB to review and improve the NTS framework so they can make more and better use of it. We have revised the NTS framework and created new supporting resources to help managers, trainers, assessors, and front-line staff with using NTS.

You will learn
  • how the RSSB NTS framework has changed and why
  • how new RSSB NTS materials can help you observe, evaluate and develop rail staff NTS performance
  • how the revised NTS framework has been implemented in Greater Anglia and Govia Thameslink Railway
  • the latest good practice in integrating NTS, including ‘dos and don’ts’
  • making implementation plans with industry colleagues
