Using Relationship-based Play to Facilitate Connection in the Classroom-PM

Both prenatal substance exposure and early trauma play a role in disrupting a child’s
ability to form and maintain positive relationships. When children struggle to form
connections with their teachers and peers, behavioral difficulties and learning difficulties
are not uncommon. This presentation will provide school teams – teachers, counselors,
social workers and psychologists – with strategies for incorporating relationship-based
play into the classroom and into therapeutic interventions.
