The USC Wind Ensemble opens their season under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor and Music Director of the South Carolina Philharmonic, Morihiko Nakahara. Maestro Nakahara leads the ensemble in a diverse and thrilling program concluding with Karel Husa’s powerful Music for Prague 1968 which memorializes the Soviet invasion of the Czech city. Doctoral conducting student Benjamin Pouncey will lead the ensemble in Re(new)al by Viet Cuong, a concerto for percussion quartet featuring USC School of Music students.
