The University of Chicago’s annual Veterans Day recognition will host senior leaders from the U.S. Army to discuss wellness efforts.
About this Event

The University of Chicago’s annual Veterans Day recognition will host members from Army Medicine and Army Chaplaincy to discuss efforts that optimize wellness for soldiers and their families. The discussion, sponsored by the University’s Office for Military-Affiliated Communities, Medical Center, and Divinity School, will highlight how Army Medicine and Army Chaplaincy contribute to soldiers and their families’ holistic wellness and resiliency from military trauma.

We invite you to participate in this conversation as senior leaders from the United States Army provide a unique professional development and engagement opportunity for aspiring and tenured chaplains and physicians.

Our guest speakers represent specialty branches in both Army Medicine and Army Chaplaincy:

  • Chaplain (Colonel) Mark Lee, Graduate School Dean, US Army Institute for Religious Leadership, Fort Jackson, South Carolina, US Army Chaplain Representative
  • Chaplain (Colonel) Ibraheem Raheem, Clinical Pastoral Education Program Director School for Spiritual Care, US Army Institute for Religious Leadership, Fort Jackson, South Carolina, US Army Chaplain Representative
  • Colonel Timothy Plackett, US Army Reserve, University of Chicago Trauma Surgeon, 374th HSC Deputy Commander for Surgical Services, US Army Medicine Representative
  • Colonel Samuel Preston, Commander, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, US Army Medicine Representative

We hope that executive leaders and staff from your organization will be able to join us:
