About this Event
Living in a big city surrounded by so many businesses it's easy to forget that almost all of the food that we consume is shipped in. What happens when there's problems with the supply chain? Or if your neighborhood grocery store closes? Add that to the fact that the longer produce is in transport, the more nutrients it loses.
Welcome to our Urban Survival Series, where we delve into the fundamental elements of sustainable gardening. In this course, our focus will be on compost, winter planting, and soil management — the cornerstones of successful cultivation. Gain practical insights and hands-on experience as we guide you through the intricacies of these essential aspects, empowering you with the skills to grow your own food. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a beginner, join us for a transformative learning experience that will unlock the secrets to fostering a thriving and sustainable garden.
This Urban Survival Course will give you the necessary knowledge to grow your own food TODAY.
The course will be held at The Degnan Microfarm, Crop Swap LA's newest microfarm in Africa Town/Leimert Park.
