Come learn this unique dance style that evolved from Kizomba in Paris in the early 2010's. It is danced to electronic, hip-hop and R&B-influenced music in a linear fashion, using straight and syncopated steps that accelerate and decelerate to accent the rhythm.
As a fusion dance, Urban Kiz draws inspiration from many styles and continues to evolve, creating new shapes, textures and ways of connecting through movement!
In this class, we will focus on the fundamentals and basic movements that make Urban Kiz feel clean, grounded, fun and connected. Our goal is to build a clean foundation, clear lead and follow and good habits so that you can take this dance anywhere with you.

No partner is required. We rotate dance partners during class.
You are not obligated to rotate if you have a partner you'd like to learn with.
No outside shoes please. Socks are a great alternative!
