When schools are closed, children ages 5+ are invited to join us for a full-day field trip exploring some of Issaquah’s favorite local spots. This active and enriching day is designed to spark curiosity, encourage walking and exploration, and help children connect with their local community.During our downtown adventure, we will:
Visit the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery to learn about salmon and local ecosystems
Say hello to the beloved Issaquah troll Jacob Two Trees
Visit the Issaquah Library for a cozy story time
Take a guided tour of the Fortunato Chocolate Factory, where children will learn about unique Peruvian cacao, discover how chocolate is made from bean to bar, and enjoy chocolate sampling
Children will travel together on foot with educators, practice city safety skills, and enjoy a day filled with discovery, conversation, and hands-on learning.

Please pack a lunch and a water bottle
Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended
