About this Event
Are you curious about the field of urban design and how it shapes the design of our cities, public spaces, and communities? Whether you're interested in the principles behind creating sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environments or in exploring the variety of career opportunities in this dynamic field, now is the perfect time to learn more.
In partnership with UNC Charlotte's Ravin School of Architecture, the Charlotte Urban Design Center is hosting a career exploration event for students and community members interested in a career in urban design.
This event will take place from 6-8 PM, and will begin with a panel discussion featuring alumni from UNCC's Master of Urban Design program. Attendees will get a better understanding of a day in the life of an urban designer while gaining insight into the transition between college and joining the workforce. An informal networking session will follow the panel discussion.
Featured firms attending include: Neighboring Concepts, LandDesign, McAdams, Little, Stantec, Kimley-Horn, and Kittleson.
Food and refreshments will be provided.
The City of Charlotte is committed to making our services and programs accessible to all. Upon request, auxiliary aids, written materials in alternative formats, language access, and other reasonable accommodations or modifications will be provided. To make a request, please email [email protected] or call 980-297-9105.
There is no dedicated parking at the Urban Design Center. We recommend you access the event by public transit (we're located directly adjacent to the Bland Street light rail station). There is 2 hour paid parking on Camden Road and other adjacent streets. There is also free on-street parking on select streets in Dilworth and Wilmore including S. Church Street, Key Court, and Rensselaer Avenue.
