Hey shredders 🌊We’re heading down to Ballina for a 2-night surf and camping mission at Flat Rock Tent Park — one of the most beautiful coastal spots just south of Byron.
Expect good waves, beach hangs, campfire vibes, and a whole heap of fun.
The campsite is a 2-minute walk to the beach, with multiple surf spots nearby catering to beginners through to experienced surfers.
Ticket Includes:
- Transportation (Carpooling from UQ)
- Dinners both nights

Board Rental Option 🏄:
There’s an option to add foamie board rental to your ticket. (Add this option with your ticket)
We have organised for up to 15x 7ft softboards to be delivered to the campsite at friday 5pm, for you to use for the rest of the weekend, great for beginners wanting to give the waves a go this weekend.

Ticket Options:
1. Driver's Ticket: $110 (Read and ensure Driver Ticket Conditions can be met)
2. Passenger Ticket: $135
3. Surfboard Rental Add-on: $90
4. Driver’s Ticket - FOMO: $120
5. Passenger Ticket - FOMO: $150
‼️ Driver tickets will release Thursday 26/02 at 5pm, passenger and board rental add-on tickets will release at Friday 27/02 at 5pm.
FOMO tickets will release Tuesday 03/03; Driver’s tickets at 4pm and Passenger tickets at 5pm.
This is a camping trip so you will need to bring camping gear and anything else you may need (We will also post a packing list in the trip's group chat). Dinner is provided but you will need to bring food for breakfast and lunches. The campsite has great facilities with clean toilets, hot showers, and coffee sold at the office.
We will be carpooling down so there's an option to get a driver's ticket, if you have a car and can take 4 passengers, then snag a discounted ticket with fuel covered.
Driver Ticket Conditions:
As a driver you must hold a valid driver's license and have a car that can take 4 passengers. You will receive reimbursement for fuel cost on the trip, so save receipts of fuel purchases in order to claim this, maximum reimbursement amount is calculated on an average efficiency for the driving distance, with exception able to be made on a case-by-case basis if you believe your car exceeds this. You have the obligation to attend the entire duration of the trip, picking up passengers from UQ campus at the start of the event, and returning to UQ campus at the end of the event. Deviation of driving plan must be unanimously agreed upon by all passengers. You have full responsibility of the passengers in your car and are required to drive in safely in adherence to all road laws. UQ Surfers is not liable for potential damages.
