Flotsam Flo Upcycled Christmas Wreath Workshop – 2 hours - £25 per personJoin us for a festive, hands-on experience at our Christmas Wreath Workshop, held near Redruth. In this 2-hour session, you'll discover how to create your own unique Christmas wreaths using upcycled plastic materials. We’ll transform challenging-to-recycle items like banners and inflatables into beautiful holiday decorations.
With a maximum of 3 participants per session, you'll receive personalised attention and guidance. No sewing experience is necessary. You’ll explore our diverse selection of materials, use templates to cut out shapes, and learn to stitch and decorate your wreaths. Choose to make one wreath or multiple smaller decorations, and take home a festive creation that reflects your style.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- How to use a sewing machine
- Health and safety practices in the workspace
- Techniques for sewing with plastic materials
- How to use simple patterns
- Drawing and applying your own designs
- Methods for upcycling plastic materials
No prior sewing experience is needed. These sessions are for adults 18 and over, with plans to offer workshops for younger participants in the future.

About your tutor:
Kate, the founder of Flotsam Flo, has been innovating with plastic materials for three years and even longer working with reclaimed materials. With over a decade of teaching experience in Design and Technology, including Textiles at all key stages, Kate brings a wealth of knowledge to her workshops. She is also a practicing artist with a First Class Honours degree in Graphic Design and has recently led creative community workshops for 'Hellfire Kernow' in Redruth.
What to bring:
You don’t need to bring anything with you, but if you have any plastics, broken inflatables, or similar items you’d like to reuse, please bring them along. We will mainly use materials like banners and inflatables. If you're interested in a group or one-to-one workshop, please contact us to arrange.

IMPORTANT: Please park only in the designated Flotsam Flo car park only. Avoid parking in the car park across the road by the Big Green Biffa building for safety reasons.
Important Safety Information:
The wreaths you create are intended for decoration only. Keep them away from naked flames, as they may be flammable. These decorations are not toys and should be kept out of reach of children to ensure safety. Materials very likely to contain or be made of PVC.
While we aim to complete each wreath within the session, additional work may be needed at home. We will ensure you are confident to finish your project if necessary.
