Headliner bio - Fri, June 5
Henrik Elmér (Sweden) - Henrik is one of the original godfathers of stand-up comedy in Sweden, having started already in 1990s, including featuring on the famous TV show 'Släng dig i brunnen' and has been a regular at the renowned Norra Brunn Comedy Club in Stockholm for almost 3 decades. Deliberate and downright funny. Deadpan, deliberate and downright funny - his twisted observations could only come from a man with a compulsion to throw his keys in the river every time he goes over a bridge. He has a feature film called 'The Meaning of Hugo' which enjoyed a well-received international run after its release and was nominated for numerous awards. He also took his first English-language solo show, 'The Sweirdish Mind of Henrik Elmer', to the Edinburgh Fringe. It showcased his absurdism, his surreally logical humour and his gift for quality writing.

Established in March of 2010 when we started doing shows at The Dubliner on Amagertorv, Copenhagen English Comedy Nights now calls the lovely Knock Knock Comedy Club its home. The shows are all about enjoying great stand-up comedy in English in a lovely setting great for meeting expats and internationally-minded social Danish natives! Who knows what'll happen!
