About this Event
We're meeting at the small park and ride lot on NE Pacific and NE 98th (turn west at the four way stop), not the large park and ride with the parking garage on 99th. We're taking the free shuttle to Lower Macleay Park where we will meet at the shelter before we start our walk. The shuttle will leave the park and ride at 10:30am and arrive at Lower Mcleay Park at 11am. The shuttle will leave the park at 1:15pm and arrive at the park and ride at 1:45pm.
What to expect
Join People of Color Outdoor at Forest Park! Enjoy a gentle, guided walk at an unhurried pace along Balch Creek Trail to the stone cottage. The total distance is 1.8 miles, with 210 feet of gradual elevation on a mostly level dirt and gravel trail. Two hours of guided forest time with a midpoint sitting practice. Journals, snacks, and beverages provided by the City of Portland.
What to bring
• Comfortable walking shoes (trail terrain with some incline)
• Layered clothing (Portland forest mornings can be cool)
• Water bottle
• Optional: your own journal or sketchbook
• Optional: rain jacket
