Join us for the unveiling of the 8th annual RVA Community Makers art installation. Each year the collaborative art project honors local community advocates. As part of Black History Month, artist Hamilton Glass and VMFA collaborate with artists, educators, business leaders, historians, community organizers, and others to creatively celebrate individuals or groups who have made a positive impact on the greater Richmond community. This year, RVA Community Makers is in partnership with the Black History Museum and Cultural Center. Inspired by the special exhibition "Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys," the theme this year is "Standing on the Shoulders." Be among the first to see this year's collaborative art project and to learn about the honorees. Among them are storytellers and artists who share the histories and voices of an enduring people, amplifying the strength, persistence, culture, and beauty of the Black diaspora.
