June Hoy's talk from 4.30 to 5 pm “Loosening up - Mark Making in Drawing”
June says: "I started using twig and ink about 20 years ago when a life drawing tutor suggested it to 2 of us in the class. We looked at her in amazement and said a twig off a tree? She said yes so I found a nice twig off an apple tree. I was using an easel and experienced running of both ink and watercolour wash.
A twig is part of nature and the end neither thick or thin, and changes with the angles. It is similar to Japanese art using bamboo.It becomes like an extension of your arm. It produces emotional and unpredictable work .
Please find a twig to bring if you can and a small jar for ink(or your own ink if you already use it)"
Then from 5- 6.30 pm Untutored drawing (with optional twig action!)
