In partnership with Somerset West Community Health Centre, join us on November 27th from 1pm-5pm for a discussion on the connections between Gender-Based Violence and HIV. ***please note this is a CLOSED EVENT for women and marginalized genders***
AIDS Awareness Week (Nov. 24-Dec. 1) & the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (Nov. 25-Dec. 10) overlap annually, and it is important to discuss and unpack how these shadow pandemics intersect and connect.
To highlight this, we will be having guest speakers from local community organizations to share their knowledge and experience with GBV and HIV.
Speakers in attendance are from the following organizations:
• Minwaashin Lodge
• Tungasuvvingat Inuit
• Immigrant Women's Services Ottawa
• Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity
• Somerset West Community Health Centre
We will also have a screening and Q&A of the 10-min documentary, "HIV Made Me Fabulous", followed by a beaded ribbon art activity.
Meals and refreshments will be provided! (please register in advance).
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mar: [email protected]
