About the Instructor

This workshop will be led by Alex Smith, a clinical intern at The F.L. Wolters Group. In addition to their experience providing nonjudgmental counseling to clients of all ages, Alex also has a professional background in theatre studies, and they are currently working to merge these interests in the form of drama therapy. What you will be doing

Drama therapy can facilitate personal exploration, insight and creativity while providing a safe space for self-expression and the embodiment of emotions. In group settings, drama therapy can also foster interpersonal connection and social skills development through the practice of collective storytelling. Workshop attendees will learn how drama therapy can encourage improved communication, empathy and self-reflection by exploring key drama concepts and participating in a variety of theatrical exercises. No prior experience needed!
