About this Event
To mark the launch of the Brunel Arts Festival in Brunel’s 60th year as an institution, Brunel University of London and the Policy Research Institute for South Asia (PRISA) present “Unmaking Contact: Interdisciplinary Conversations.”
Taking off from Royona Mitra’s latest monograph Unmaking Contact as a starting point, this conversation hosts an exciting, interdisciplinary roundtable between Shafeena Anas (Medical School), Joshua Castellino (Law), Caitlyn Lee-Mei-Jin Merry (Digital Education; Social and Political Sciences), Royona Mitra (Arts & Humanities), and Rohini Rai (Social and Political Sciences), chaired by Sharanya Murali (Arts and Humanities).
This gathering will explore what it means to make, and unmake, our social, political, medical, legal, artistic, digital and cultural worlds—and what the value is, of unmaking as a call for liberation —at a time when solidarity-building needs to be as strong as the precarities of our social realities.
The event takes place at the Easrern Gateway Auditorium and Atrium.
