Welcome to Unmaking Art Studio Residency! ?✨
Join us as a co-worker at Unmaking Art Studio for a truly authentic and immersive artistic experience in Barcelona's vibrant El Raval neighborhood. Our seven day residency, run by a non profit community art association, is dedicated to fostering creativity and supporting local culture.
Imagine spending your days immersed in creativity in the heart of Barcelona, a city teeming with artistic inspiration and cultural richness. At our studio, you'll have your own artistic space in the bustling El Raval neighborhood. The space is conveniently located around the corner from Gaudí's Palau Güell. El Raval has a rich artistic history, known for its bohemian spirit and creative energy. ? The neighborhood is a melting pot of cultures and has been home to many artists, musicians, and writers over the years, including artists such as Joan Miró, Antoni Tàpies, and writers like Roberto Bolaño, Jean Genet, and Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, who have all found inspiration in this vibrant neighborhood.
You will have access to the studio from 9am to Midnight, and the guidance of Shyne (Insta: @unmakingart), a talented local artist. Shyne will assist you in purchasing materials from local stores, whether you need wood, canvas, oil, or acrylic. ?️ Additionally, you'll be introduced to other locally run businesses, ensuring you have a genuine local experience. ?✨
Start your creative work day with a complimentary coffee in our cozy common area where you can mingle with visitors or fellow artists. Your studio space is designed to cater to your artistic needs, whether you work with wood, canvas, oil, or acrylic.
On the last Saturday of the residency, you will have the opportunity to exhibit your work alongside two to three other local artists, showcasing your creations to the community. ?️?
Throughout your stay, enjoy the convenience of free water, coffee and healthy snacks, keeping you refreshed and energized as you work.
Take time to wander the streets of El Raval, absorb the bohemian atmosphere and let the creative energy fuel your work. Unmaking Art is more than just a studio; it's an immersive experience designed to elevate your artistic practice while providing a genuine connection to Barcelona's cultural heartbeat. Working from here, you'll be walking in the footsteps of past creatives who have left their mark on the city.
