UNLEASH YOUR RHYTHM!Celebrate the Spring! Come and PLAY with us!
-Join Deb Brown from Yes You Can HAND DRUM, as we playfully explore hand drumming using djembes and other multicultural hand drums. Two Saturday afternoon workshops- April 11th, and May 09th, 2026. Come to one, or both. Preregistration is required.
-Drawing inspiration from traditional west African djembe rhythms, we will learn and explore a variety of drum patterns, create some of our own rhythms, experiment with various techniques, do some team activities, enjoy some improv, and share the JOY of drumming and creative self-expression!
-We will do a little learning, a little practicing, a little free jamming, and have a whole lot of fun!
-Beginners or experienced drummers will enjoy this workshop. Suitable for adults or children age 12 and up.
-Deb’s casual facilitation style makes drumming easy, enjoyable for all. The goal is to share the JOY of rhythm.
-Drums are avail for those without their own djembe.* Limited quantity, please reserve when registering.
-Group Hand Drumming is so much more than making music! A hand drumming circle offers a place for connection, community, co-creativity, communication beyond words, and a space where we can share the joy of rhythm.

HOSTED BY: Deb Brown, from Yes You Can HAND DRUM. Deb has been playing djembe for over 25 years, and loves to share the joy of hand drumming in workshops for people of all ages. She has facilitated drum circles for adults, seniors, and children, for schools, social groups, special needs groups, and corporate events. Deb’s facilitation style makes drumming fun and easy, providing an inclusive, uplifting experience for all.
COST: $ 30 Preregistered + $3.90 HST = per wkshop = $33.90
>>For 2 workshops $67.80 (less $5 disc. = $62.80)
$ 34 including $4 drum rental + $4.42 HST = $38.42
>>For 2 workshops $76.84 (less $5 disc. = $72.84)
LOCATION: Edgar Community Hall. 5 minutes north of Barrie, ON.

TIME:
1:00-1:30 - Arrive and Check In.
1:30-4:00 - Workshop runs (Includes ½ hr. break- Tea + mingle)
4:00-4:10 - Sometimes we run a bit overtime. ?? tbd
4:10-5:00 - clean up (this is not required by guests).
PLEASE do your best to arrive well before 1:30 start, thanks!!
BRING: Bring your own djembe if you have one. Drums avail for those without their own drum.* (Please reserve drum when registering.) Bring your own water or drink in thermos if wanted. Hot water and assorted teas will be available at no charge. Optional: bring a small snacky to share during break if you wish.

NOTES: If you wish to come to the workshops, but don’t have transportation, contact Deb I will try to help you find a ride. Although preregistration is encouraged, for those who prefer last minute, yes you can just show up at the door and pay cash, but workshop cost will be $35. For those in need who can’t afford the workshop, please talk privately to Deb, there is always a way.
