About this Event
University of Glasgow Pr*son Projects Exchange
A diverse range of staff and postgraduate students from all corners of the University have been engaged in Pr*son work that they find significant, valuable, and fulfilling. This work is taken up on a purely volunteer basis in addition to their regular academic activities. Participants are often unaware of each other, and those with a nascent interest in Pr*son work often struggle to connect with those already engaged in it.
In recent months, we have been working to connect participants from across the University. To date, there has been no University-wide event which enables them to come together for encouragement, support, and to share their passion. The Pr*son Projects Exchange will fill that gap.
The one-day event, generously funded by the Ferguson Bequest, is intended to foster connections between members of our University community with a mutual commitment to promoting our values through involvements with local prisons. The event will bring together staff and postgraduates from across the University who have taken part or are interested in projects in Scottish prisons. Our two external speakers will share valuable insights learned through the successful projects they’ve run elsewhere in the UK. The day as a whole will allow a unique opportunity to share experiences, workshop ideas, and develop new relationships.
