The Danville Police Department is excited to host the inaugural Unity in Action conference January 23-24, 2025, at 1 Community Way.This first-of-its-kind conference will focus on community policing and addressing violent crime.
In addition, the Virginia Attorney General’s Office has partnered with the Department to provide DCJS credit for all Virginia law enforcement officers who attend.
The two-day conference will take a deep dive into Danville’s rich history through a multi-faceted approach. It will also explore how government agencies can partner with communities to be problem solvers.
Participants will also learn how the Danville Police Department works to reduce violent crime, the importance of trust, transparency and accountability, addressing crime and gangs, and the importance of intentional community engagement.
Unity in Action will be held at no cost to attendees thanks to the generous support of Caesars Virginia and Whiting-Turner. Rooms are available from The Bee and Holbrook Hotel for a limited time. Registration is required.
In addition to the Office of the Attorney General, Caesars Virginia, and Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, the Department wishes to thank the City of Danville and Averett University for partnering to hold this conference in the new state-of-the-art police facility at 1 Community Way.
