The Nonviolent Medicaid Army is picking up Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s call to build a nonviolent army of the poor to end poverty. We are uniting across all lines of division. We come together for support, survival, and strategy.
More and more people across Maryland are struggling to meet their basic needs of housing, food, healthcare, transportation, and childcare. This is not unique to Maryland. Across the country, poverty is deepening, made worse by post-pandemic cuts to vital public programs.
Poverty is the 4th leading cause of death in this country. We will not suffer in silence! It is time for us to come together and demand our Right to Health and freedom from poverty!
