About this Event
Morris County Historical Society is pleased to partner with local historians and history organizations to present a Morris County Walking Tour Series that celebrates the area’s rich and diverse past . From April through October, join us for nearly 40 guided walking tours that explore almost two dozen communities throughout Morris County, with topics ranging from unique historic districts, downtowns, and neighborhoods to local industries that shaped the landscape, and the individuals who left a lasting impact.
United for Good Works explores the inspiring story of Morristown’s Female Charitable Society, founded in 1813 by women who stepped forward to care for their community long before social safety nets or voting rights existed. On this 90-minute guided walking tour, visit key historic sites around Morristown as MHHM and Presbyterian Church staff bring to life the voices and impact of the 19th-century women who transformed their town. The walking tour will begin at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum located at 45 Macculloch Ave., Morristown and ends at the Morristown Green. Free street parking available on Macculloch Ave.
FREE. Rain/Shine. Space is limited to 12 per tour, pre-registration required.
