About this Event
In celebration of the International Day of Play (June 11), UNICEF USA will host the “UNICEF Kid Zone” at The Soccer Tournament (TST) from Thursday, May 28, through Sunday, May 31, 2026. The Kid Zone will be a place for children of all ages to participate in structured and open-ended play. Activities will include a prize wheel with giveaways, a photobooth with customized player cards, soccer skills challenges, arts and crafts, and an interactive mural where children can share why play is important to them. UNICEF Ambassador Doctor Mike and other special guests will be present throughout the weekend.
In addition to activities, parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to learn more about UNICEF’s work to ensure that every child is healthy, educated, protected and respected.
Every child has the right to thrive and reach their full potential, and play is a powerful pathway to get there. On International Day of Play the world will celebrate and honor the universal joy, creativity, and connection that play brings to children everywhere. At UNICEF, play is not a nice to have, it is a right. Play helps children develop cognitive and social skills, emotional resilience, and physical strength and coordination. UNICEF promotes play through schools and parenting support, in development and humanitarian settings, and across sports, arts and other means of creative expression.
