10:00AM - Chalking in front of UTS Tower
10:30AM – Gathering outside UTS Tower (Building 1)
11:00AM – Student & Staff Speakout Begins
11:05AM – Contingents from USyd, UNSW, Macquarie, UWS, and other universities arrive
11:30AM – We begin our march to Town Hall!

Just because the world is being ravaged by the COVID crisis does not mean the climate crisis has miraculously gone away. From the 2019 bushfires to the 1 in 50-year floods this March, it is clear the climate crisis is here. It is getting worse. Yet politicians from both sides of government continue to ignore the science, committed to profits over people and the planet.
Scomo’s gas-fired recovery is not a recovery. It is a death sentence. It is committing Australia to decades of burning fossil fuels. If we want real climate justice for workers and oppressed people, we need to fight to shut down fossil fuels!
Join UTS students as we walk-off class to join the school student climate strike on Friday, May 21st.
We demand:
1. First nations justice. No mining or fracking on Indigenous lands.
2. Shut down the fossil fuel industry. No to Morrison’s gas-fired recovery.
3. 100% publically owned renewable energy now!
4. Support communities: a just transition to green jobs and funding for firies and essential workers.
