About this Event
We are so honored to be able to highlight the stories and experiences of two incredible South Asian men survivors, and bring light to voices that largely go unheard.
Farhan Manjiyani is the founder of f13i Consulting and a leader in pricing and competitive strategy at Grafana Labs. Proudly identifying as an Ismaili Muslim with deep roots in the South Asian community, his advocacy as a male survivor of childhood sexual assault emerged publicly after private healing and reflection. After carrying his pain for 20 years, Farhan consciously committed to living bravely and authentically, sharing his experiences publicly. His vision is to be a permission slip for survivors – especially men of color – to reclaim their narratives through storytelling and open dialogue.
Vikash Ravi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that specializes in providing trauma-informed and culturally competent therapy services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. He has worked primarily with POC and other American Cultural Minority populations, including South Asian survivors of domestic and sexual violence, LGBTQIA+, and many others. He currently runs a telehealth Private Practice in Texas that sees a variety of adult and adolescent clients. Vikash is a strong advocate for normalizing inclusive therapeutic practices that are client-centered, strengths-based, and empowerment-focused.
Ali Shah has spent more than two decades working at the crossroads of crisis, recovery,
and community care. As the Director of Emergency Management at San Jacinto
College, he’s used to responding when things fall apart during catastrophic events like
hurricanes, campus emergencies, and public health crises. But through his work with
Daya Houston, Ali has learned that some of the most profound emergencies happen
quietly, behind closed doors. Serving on Daya’s Board of Directors, Ali is deeply committed to advancing the organization’s mission of helping survivors of domestic violence and abuse rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. His role allows him to see the human side of resilience and the courage it takes to speak up, to heal, and to start again.
