Join us for UNFOOLED DAY, the soft-opening of Erie Labor Temple, an evening for the artist community, family, friends, collaborators, and fellow believers in building something real.
This is not the grand opening.
This is the first ignition.
On April 2nd, we’ll open the doors to the first floor of Erie Labor Temple and invite you into the early shape of what this place is becoming: a living home for art, craft, design, culture, discourse, and creative labor in the heart of Erie.
Guests will be able to explore and experience the first-floor spaces, including:
The Commonwealth Reading Room — our bookstore, reading room, and future forum for public discourse.
BOOKFORGE — Edward Patrick Kranz’s bindery, restoration studio, and house of handwork.
Sharon Smith Metal Arts — metalwork, craft, and material intelligence forged by hand.
Bróður — textile-based practice, stitch, structure, and surface.
PH'KAKi Creative Works — design, media, strategy, and creative communications under voltage.
The second and third floors are still under construction and development, but they will be part of the story that evening. We’ll share what’s coming next, what Erie Labor Temple is growing into, and why we believe this building matters, not just as a place, but as a platform.
This evening is about community, momentum, and opening the doors before everything is polished. It’s about showing the bones, the vision, the labor, and the belief. It’s about welcoming people in at the beginning.
