Join us for a light-hearted exploration of lesser-known aspects of Jane Austen’s world. Dr Julia Miller, author of Crime and Prejudice (shortlisted for the Comedy Women in Print prize 2025) will draw on Jane Austen’s writing to discuss aspects of crime in the Regency era. We also have Gillian Dooley, author of She Played and Sang: Jane Austen and Music, with friends, to perform a selection of songs that Austen enjoyed, showcasing the author’s dark humour and exquisite musical taste.
