Understanding Your Soil Better - How to test and feed your garden soil before planting.Thursday May 7 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

In this workshop you will learn how to test your soil, how to read the pH and three of the main nutrients nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium (N-P-K). You will learn how to enhance your soil and where to find good quality soil enhancing products so you can grow better and healthier food plants.
Understanding your soil better and enhancing the health of your soil is key to grow amazing plants that will feed your family for weeks or even months.
This workshop is facilitated by local market garden growers Lone Sorensen (Northern Roots) and Jocelyn Apps (Yellowknife Urban Farm) and will take place outside in the Northern Roots Market Garden at 5030-57th Street in Yellowknife.
Once you have registered you will receive instructions on how to collect your soil sample to bring for the workshop.
A soil test kit with 40 tests (10 of each set) is included in the registration fee of $62 (includes GST)
This workshop is a part of “Transform Your Yard into a Food Garden” stand alone sessions open to the all Yellowknife and surrounding area citizens. This program is made possible through the City of Yellowknife’s commitment to the Agriculture Strategy GROW initiative.
