About this Event

Coming from a military family comes with a level of systemic challenges of its own, on top of those that come with any family system. Military families can be a group for therapists that are not always regularly experienced and for therapists without military history in their own families, working with this population may seem daunting. In this presentation we will discuss popular systemic issues in military families and challenges that come with those issues as well as mental health/ trauma issues and how to implement this knowledge from a systemic lens.

Participants will be able to

 • Identify popular systemic issues within military families and the challenges that come with them
 • Discuss popular mental health and trauma issues with military persons and how it impacts the family
 • Implement this knowledge with clients and understanding methods to bridge gaps in military families
