Nature-based therapies can play an important role in promoting resilience and well-being for cancer survivors.
About this Event

The Survivorship Program offers a quarterly "Trails to Recovery" hiking/walking opportunity for nature therapy. This unique offering is available to cancer survivors at no charge.

This series is hosted in partnership with The Local Hiker, a retail hiking and adventure store located downtown Spartanburg, SC.

The next nature walk/hike will take place at River Birch Trail in Spartanburg, located off Sydnor Road. This trail is great for all physical activity skill levels, beginners included, as it is a paved path that runs alongside the river. Our experienced session leaders will provide therapeutic engagement through education about the surrounding ecosystem as well as offering meditative, journaling and mindfulness activities.

Please plan to meet in the River Birch Access parking area at 10:00 am (behind the McCracken Middle School football field).

Studies have shown that spending time in nature has therapeutic effects on cancer survivors, including reducing stress levels, improved immune function and increased overall well-being.

To register, please sign up here on Eventbrite or contact us at 864-560-7618.
