Open Road is the young person's drug and alcohol support provider in Southend, supporting young people from the ages of 8 - 29. Our experts will delve into the complexities surrounding this issue and provide valuable insights on how to support and help those affected. This session will cover the folloing:

  • The Teenage Brain & Risk-taking: Explore the differences in the teenage brain & why young people engage with risky behaviours.
  • Recognising Signs: Discover how to identify signs of drug use and drug dealing, enabling you to take timely and appropriate action.
  • The Cycle of Change: Understand the stages of change in substance misuse and the importance of early interventions to support recovery.
  • Effective Communication: Develop strategies for speaking to young people about drug use, fostering open and supportive conversations.
