About this Event
Understanding Religious Trauma in Interpersonal Violence
Faith communities can be powerful sources of healing and connection. However, religious beliefs and systems can also be misused as tools of coercive control within abusive relationships.
This training explores the intersection of religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and domestic violence, helping direct service professionals recognize how faith-based narratives can reinforce abuse dynamics and create unique barriers for survivors.
Participants will learn how to identify religious trauma, respond in trauma-informed ways, and support survivors navigating complex relationships with faith, identity, and community.
