About this Event

"Understanding Recruitment Technology and AI for Careers Advisors & Employment Support Professionals" This event is designed for careers advisors at secondary schools and colleges, as well as employment support advisors within the VCFSE sector who help disadvantaged jobseekers into employment ONLY !

Max. Attendees for this session is 20, 4-hour Workshop comprising x4 45-minute modules as follows:

  1. How Young People Search for Jobs: Understanding how careers advice needs to adapt based on new technology and its uses by young people and modern jobseekers, covering job boards, social media, AI technology, video portfolios and speculative applications
  2. Recruitment Technology and Online Job Applications: Exploring how modern ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) filter CVs - from parsing to keyword ranking - and the tools available to jobseekers and young people to create targeted applications that help them get seen.
  3. How Employers Use AI: Demonstrating the use of AI technologies within the recruitment process, including asynchronous video interviews and automated scoring, whilst discussing key trends, legislation, ethics and safeguarding considerations.
  4. AI Tools for Jobseekers and Advisors: A practical demonstration of widely used AI tools, career-coaching software and customisable agents that young people, jobseekers and advisors can leverage to save time and get ahead when exploring jobs, apprenticeships and work experience.


Key learning outcomes: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how employers use AI and recruitment technology in their hiring processes.
  • Translate how ATS systems filter CVs and how to maximise applications in a competitive employment landscape.
  • Demonstrate AI-powered career tools to support students and jobseekers to save time and improve applications outcomes.
  • Guide young people on responsible and effective AI-assisted job searching that will support their career journeys now and in the future.
