April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, a meaningful time to learn more about this progressive neurodegenerative disorder and the impact it has on individuals and families. HomeInstead will be hosting an informative seminar for residents and community guests focused on understanding Parkinson’s disease.This session will explore what Parkinson’s is, common signs and symptoms, risk factors, diagnosis, complications, and approaches to treatment or management. Attendees will also gain insight into how Parkinson’s develops, including the loss of nerve cells in the area of the brain known as the substantia nigra.
