About this Event

This educational seminar provides an opportunity for professionals to learn about Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, and how to apply this information to their profession. After attending this course, social workers and health care professionals who are new to the field of dementia, will be able to:


Explain how dementia manifests and progresses

Recognize common symptoms throughout the progression of Alzheimer’s disease

Apply strategies to engage a person with dementia

Identify CaringKind resources available for professionals, individuals living with the disease, and families affected by dementia

CaringKind SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0068.
