Our Back to School Night is a community outreach to help families understanding critical race theory and its impact on our classrooms.
About this Event

Critical race theory (CRT) makes race the prism through which its proponents analyze all aspects of American life, categorizing individuals into groups of oppressors and victims. It is a philosophy that is infecting everything from politics and education to the workplace and the military.

Our Program Will Include Presentations By:

Katie Gorka, Director of the Feulner Institute’s Center for Civil Society and the American Dialogue at The Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC. Katie was born in Boston and grew up in various places on the East Coast, from Franconia, New Hampshire, to Asheville, North Carolina. She earned her B.A. in Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her M.Sc. in Politics of the World Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She lived in Budapest, Hungary for twelve years, where she worked on aspects of the post-communist transition, including projects to help rebuild civil society. Today Katie lives in McLean, Virginia with her husband Sebastian Gorka.

Dr. Paul Brintley, Pastor, Author, and Ambassador at NC Faith & Freedom Coalition in Gastonia, NC. Dr. Paul is an entrepreneur expert with very special administration and leadership skills. Dr. Paul has a Paralegal degree and a Bachelor of Theology degree and also holds a Doctorate of Ministry. In his latest book: , Paul uncovers the lies that have been pitched to the black community for decades. He exposes the lies rooted in Critical Race Theory and why it is important to stop the winds of racism and false narratives about black Americans. Today Paul lives in Kings Mountain, NC with his family and wife Celeste.

Jonathan Butcher, is a Senior Policy Analyst and the Will Skillman Fellow in Education at The Heritage Foundation has researched and testified on education policy around the U.S. He is currently writing a book for Post Hill Press discussing critical race theory in schools and America’s national identity. In 2021, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster nominated Jonathan to serve on the board of the South Carolina Public Charter School District, a statewide charter school authorizer. Jonathan holds a B.A. in English from Furman University and an M.A. in economics from the University of Arkansas. He has appeared on Fox News, C-SPAN, and HBO’s Vice News Tonight. His commentary has appeared nationally in places such as the Wall Street Journal, Education Week, National Review Online, Newsweek.com, and Forbes.com, along with newspapers and radio programs around the country. Jonathan has also co-edited and wrote chapters in the book , which provides conservative solutions to the problems created by the ever-expanding federal footprint in preschool, K-12, and higher education. Today, Jonathan lives in Greenville, SC with his family and wife Pearce.

Action Training: Parents, guardians, and grandparents can be involved in the classroom by understanding how state and county-approved curriculum is taught in the classroom. Learn the buzz worlds to root out CRT and know what to do when you find a problem.
