Legal questions? We can help!
This workshop will help you gain valuable knowledge about common legal matters when starting a business, such as:
• The benefits of and differences between limited liability companies, corporations, and partnerships
• What kinds of operating documents you need (bylaws, shareholders, and operating agreements) and why you need them
• The new Corporate Transparency Act Beneficial Ownership Requirements
• Additional state and local licensing and registration you may need to address
We will also talk a little about common patent, trademark, copyright, and proprietary information issues for new businesses most people don't know about, including:
• What you should protect and how, including the impact of new non-competition agreement laws
• Making sure your business name and logo aren't infringing on someone else's
• Who will own the intellectual property (IP) of the business at startup and as any new IP is created.
