1. Can I come to this talk if I am not a grandparent?
Yes, it is open to everyone who is a parent, carer, family or friend of someone with a child with Autism or ADHD.
2. Why is this talk about both Autism and ADHD? My child only has one diagnosis; should I attend?
ADHD and autism, whilst distinct conditions, often co-occur. Many of the suggestions and recommendations that I give are suitable for supporting both autistic individuals and ADHD individuals. Similarly, the knowledge I will share is relevant to other neurodivergent conditions, such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.
3. What will I learn?
You will learn what autism and ADHD are and how these conditions can potentially manifest based on the most up-to-date research and understanding. Additionally, we will discuss how you can support your neurodivergent loved one and their families with school, home life, and extended family events and interactions.
4. Will I be able to ask questions?
Yes. There will be time for questions at the end, and you are welcome to submit a question in advance so that I can ensure it is covered in the presentation. Please email your questions to [email protected] by Friday, May 17, 2024.
5. My grandchild has another neurodivergent diagnosis. Can I still attend, and for what age is this relevant?
Please do. I aim to support all neurodivergent individuals of any age and stage.
6. Will there be other sessions if I can’t attend this session?
Yes, I plan to rerun this session in the future. Please email [email protected] to register your interest for future sessions.
7. Will this be recorded?
The live event will not be recorded, but a pre-recorded online version will be available for purchase after the event.
8. If, for any reason, I am unable to attend once I have purchased a ticket, can I get my money back?
Unfortunately, not, however, we will send you a copy of the recording, which we would typically charge for.
9. Where will the event take place?
The event will take place in NW11, and you will be given the precise location upon booking. There is plenty of on-street parking, and the venue is close to several bus routes and the tube.
