This one‑day workshop offers an overview of current research and best‑practice approaches to working with people who commit sexual offences.
About this Event

The workshop will cover: the nature and prevalence of sexual offending; theoretical models which can inform practice (including aetiological and typological models); the relationship between sexual offending and mental health conditions; recidivism, risk factors, protective factors, and risk instruments; practical assessment issues; treatment (both psychological and pharmacological); management; prevention; and important subgroups (e.g., online sexual offending, women who sexually offend, young people who sexually offend). The aim is to equip practitioners with some of the fundamental knowledge required to practice effectively with this population.

🎯 Who should attend?

The day will be suitable for a wide range of professionals who work with or want to develop their skills in relation to people who sexually offend, including those who work in forensic or general mental health services, criminal justice services, law enforcement, child and family services, legal settings or other support/intervention services particularly for people who commit offences or at risk of offending.
