About this Event
Are you looking for ways to better understand your community’s assets and opportunities to further children and nature strategies? If so, then mapping your community’s landscape can further your efforts by better understanding the local resources, assets, gaps and barriers to connect children to nature.
Join our December Peer Learning Network event, where our presenters will share strategies to help you build a clearer picture of where you can make the most impact. Conducting a landscape scan of relevant policies, stakeholders, programs and experiences will help you better understand the assets, opportunities, resources and barriers in your community. We will be joined by team members from Nature Everywhere Communities who will share their first hand experience and lessons learned.
This activity is an important Coalition Builder action as part of the Nature Everywhere Communities Action Challenge. If you are interested in expanding children’s access to nature and are doing a landscape scan, consider joining the Action Challenge in order to gain recognition for your actions.
This capacity building event is part of the Nature Everywhere Communities initiative, a joint partnership between The Children & Nature Network, National League of Cities and KABOOM! to increase equitable access to nature everywhere children live, learn and play in 100 U.S. communities by 2025.
Who should attend? Ideally, anyone looking to increase children’s access to nature in their community and are curious about the Nature Everywhere Communities Action Challenge. If you’re unsure about how your local goals may align with the Action Challenge, or aren’t sure if your cross-sector team might be eligible, contact Christian at [email protected].
