Faith and belief networks play an important role in supporting some of the most vulnerable people in society and help communities live well together.
This seminar will explore the role of faith and beliefs in different communities and the diverse approaches that faith communities and community chaplaincies are taking to support vulnerable people and make a positive impact in their neighbourhoods. Speakers will also share the benefits these approaches offer and debate how they can engage with both Pr*son leavers and faith communities to bring about lasting change.
Finally, this seminar will offer practical examples of how strong faith and belief networks help improve social inclusion, breaking down barriers in communities and shifting the public narrative and attitudes towards Pr*son leavers.
* The Community Chaplaincy Association is an umbrella organisation working with 48 Community Chaplaincies who support prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families, within Pr*son and out in the community in England and Wales.
** The Welcome Directory works in England and Wales to support Pr*son leavers back into the community and brings together over 448 registered faith communities across 10 major world faiths … and counting.
