✅ Who can participate:
â€ĸ Students studying Undergraduate/MBBS degree or who are doing research
â€ĸ Graduate (master’s or doctoral) student researchers
â€ĸ Researchers working in a public or private research center
đŸ”ĨPrizes:
🔔Category A (Light Microscopy):
1st place 5,000 BDT
2nd place 3,000 BDT
3rd place 2,000 BDT
🔔 Category B (Electron Microscopy):
1st place 5,000 BDT
2nd place 3,000 BDT
3rd place 2,000 BDT
🔔 People’s Choice Award Winner:
2,000 BDT each
So, you are provided:
â€ĸ Participation certificates for all the shortlisted participants
â€ĸ Prize money(Cash) and certificate for winners and each participant is eligible for only one prize.
💡Rules:
â€ĸ Light microscopic and Electron microscopic images will be considered
â€ĸ It's an storytelling contest which should be depicted through the image
â€ĸ Raw images will be considered only.
For post processing (like brightness adjustments, gamma adjustments, photoshop enhanced etc.), raw image should be available if requested.
â€ĸ AI generated images will not be considered.
â€ĸ Participant needs to be the sole owner of the image.
â€ĸ Image file size: Image file must not exceed 500MB in size, and should be sufficiently high resolution for web viewing
â€ĸ Image format: *.jpg or *.png or *tiff
â€ĸ All submissions should include a title of the image and a short description of each image. Depicting a story behind the image is encouraged. This text should be less than 60 words. Your entry should not have been submitted to earlier competitions held any micrograph/scientific imaging competitions.
â€ĸ A maximum of 3 submissions is allowed per person (submit a new form for each).
â€ĸ Submit your image through provided links.

đŸ“ĸWhat to include in your submission:
1. Catchy Title: Maximum of 60 characters, including spaces
2. Plain-language description of the research:
3. 500 characters(max) including spaces
4. Describe what is seen in the image
5. Explain your research, and make the connection between the image and the research being carried out
6. The plain-language text is intended for a non-expert audience of scientifically curious adults
đŸ”ŦCompetition details:
Submissions are expected to demonstrate technical excellence, creativity, and the ability to communicate scientific ideas or phenomena visually.
1ī¸âƒŖ Category A (Light Microscopy):
This category is open to images captured using any light microscopy technique, including but not limited to fluorescence, confocal microscopy.
2ī¸âƒŖ Category B (Electron Microscopy):
This category welcomes images obtained through electron microscopy techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
3ī¸âƒŖ Popular Choice Award:
On 11 January, shortlisted images will be posted on our official Facebook page. Participants have to share the post, and all reactions on the original post will be counted toward the Popular Choice Award.

🔍Image Selection Process:
â€ĸ A panel of judges from academic members of different universities are engaged for evaluation. Top three images will be selected from each category on the basis of obtained scores from judges
â€ĸ Besides the jury judge another two images will be selected on the basis of popularity voting via social media platform termed as People’s Choice Award.
🔎Evaluation Criteria:
Primary Criterion: Overall visual quality of the image
Aesthetic Impact: Creativity, emotional resonance, and ability to spark curiosity or a sense of wonder
Secondary Criterion: Relevance to the research
Scientific Illustration: Effectiveness of the image in communicating the research context
Description Quality: Clarity and coherence of the accompanying descriptive text
