MARK BRYAN

Mark Bryan is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist best known as a founding member of the American rock band Hootie & the Blowfish. Born on May 6, 1967, in Charleston, South Carolina, Bryan's musical journey began in the late '80s when he formed the band while attending the University of South Carolina. Hootie & the Blowfish achieved massive success in the mid-90s with their breakthrough album Cracked Rear View, which included hits like "Only Wanna Be With You" and "Hold My Hand."

While the band enjoyed mainstream success, Bryan also pursued solo projects. He has released several solo albums, showcasing his versatility as a musician. His solo work leans into rock, Americana, and folk influences, which contrasts with the mainstream pop-rock sound of Hootie & the Blowfish. Bryan's acoustic performances highlight his skillful guitar playing and thoughtful lyrics, establishing him as a distinct voice in the music world beyond his work with the band.

A passionate and accomplished musician, Bryan continues to perform both with Hootie & the Blowfish and in his solo endeavors, making an impact on the music scene with his heartfelt songwriting and performances.
