About the Artists:
Tim Fuller is an illustrator living in Northern Kentucky and active in the Cincinnati, Ohio comic scene. He writes and draws comic books, mostly about talking animals. He shares his studio space with several cats and dogs who give him plenty of feedback on his work. His Sham Comics series for Source Point Press takes public domain material from the 40s and 50s and rewrites them as social satires. Tim is the art director for The Cincinnati Cabinet of Curiosities comic anthology of local paranormal legends. Tim’s current projects also include "Cap'n Catnip & Womble the Wonder Gerbil" with writer Craig Boldman and cartoonist Daryll Collins.
Jay B. Kalagayan (Writer, Publisher) is a Filipino American creator and director of Creative Mussel, the indie publisher of MeSseD Comics, Filipino Assassin: The Untold Story of Vincent Manago Hambright, The Intrusion, Grassman: Ohio’s Favorite Cryptid, Dr. Skintag, The Goat: Pope Lick Creek Monster, St. Malo, and other creative projects. Jay’s work has been published with Corpse Flower Press, Sol-Con Anthology through The Ohio State University, Columbus Scribbler, Xavier University Newswire, CityBeat, and The World Toilet Organization. Awards include the following: 2018 SPACE Prize, General Category, Third Place, 2022 SPACE Prize, General Finalist, 2023 SPACE Prize, General Finalist, 2016 People's Liberty Project Grant recipient and 2025 & 2026 ArtsWave’s Truth and Innovation recipient.
Kevin Necessary is an editorial cartoonist and illustrator based in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. His work has appeared in various publications such as Politico, USA Today, The Week, and more. He is known for his humorous and often poignant commentary on local and national issues.
Christina Wald is a designer, illustrator, and educator who brings stories to life through art. After illustrating more than 70 picture books, she authored Sketching Here & Everywhere: My Sketching Obsession, a reflection on her creative journey and years of teaching sketching. She founded Urban Sketchers Cincinnati in 2017 and serves as Social Media Coordinator for the international organization. Her picture books are sold worldwide. Highlights include three titles for the San Diego Zoo, including their official centennial children’s book. She also illustrated The Wild Life of Elk, a collaboration between the U.S. Forest Service and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and Camas and Sage: A Story of Bison Life on the Prairie for the American Prairie Reserve. Her latest release is Denni-Jo and Pinto at the Rodeo, written by Buck Buchanan, and she is currently working on a graphic novel called Shards. Wald has taught illustration and narrative storytelling for over a decade at Northern Kentucky University, where she is recognized as an award-winning and inspiring educator.
