Course Description
Gardeners in our region have enthusiastically embraced native and adapted plants and have been cutting back on watering for some time now. How far can we go? Join Lauren as she shares knowledge she’s gained making and tending extremely low-water plantings at the Gardens on Spring Creek and at home that receive three or less irrigations a year. Come learn about planting styles, practicalities, and plants–including a deep dive into hardy cacti and companions–of these ultra-performing gardens.
Presented by Lauren Springer
Longtime Fort Collins Nursery winter workshop presenter Lauren Springer has introduced numerous plants including several in the Plant Select program, and has designed gardens at the Denver Botanic Gardens, Chatfield Farm, the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, and the Gardens on Spring Creek where she is on staff. Her sixth book, The Rocky Mountain Native Plant Primer, coauthored with Bryan Fischer, is due out next year from Timber Press.
