The Northern Ireland War Memorial (NIWM) and Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) welcome you to a talk by David R. Orr which gives an overview of the creation and role of the Ulster Home Guard during the Second World War. The talk will highlight how it differed from its counterparts in Great Britain and the challenges encountered by its men as Northern Ireland faced the potential, or perceived, risk of invasion.
David R. Orr is the author of “Duty without glory – the story of Ulster’s Home Guard in the Second World War and the Cold War” (2008).
